Newman Hydrants and Valves Replacement

Contract value: $ 700 K

Scope: 

• Work planning including work methods, shutdown plans,
  traffic management, site safety and environmental management
  plans.
• Pre-works excavation (potholing) and confirmation of assets,
  arrangement and proposed detail suitability.
• Trench excavation and exposure of assets and condition of
  fittings, providing remedial works as required.
• Import and placement of new bedding material.
• Installation of reticulation pipework, hydrants/valves and
  fittings.
• Flushing and disinfection of the pipelines.

VDE’s responsibility:

• Designing of shutdown plan. V&D Engineering was assigned to perform 12 shutdowns, many of which had to be conducted at night time.
  Note: The whole project consisted of 25 valves and 29 hydrants replacement. 
• Site Survey
• Ensuring that the exposed pipes were fully barricaded with proper signage.
• Supply and install new valves and hydrants.
• Supply and install of blue brute pipes.
• Fabrication of spools in-situ on site.
• Site restoration works (including kerbs, road repairs etc.)
